Equity Strategies works with quoted companies, private equity houses and large private companies to source acquisitions in the UK and overseas.

Strong analytical and financial appraisal skills, extensive sector expertise, proven strategic thinking and the ability to think outside the box characterise our deal initiation service. Using sophisticated databases and our extensive business contacts we identify suitable mid-market companies matching our client’s requirements.

We are experienced in discretely teasing out potential acquisitions; avoiding auctions where possible and owners with unrealistic price expectations.

Our directors are experienced in sourcing and completing deals with a market value of between £2m and £100m.

Equity Strategies has access to live sale mandates worldwide covering all trade sectors and financial and ownership data on up to 20 million privately owned companies across the globe.

A typical project will usually involve a briefing session to help us fully understand the requirements of our client. This is followed by desk based research utilising our databases, contacts and public data.

Once we have identify one or more target companies which meet our client’s criteria we discretely approach the targets, meet with prospective vendors to establish whether there is interest in doing a deal. If the response is positive we make introductions and assist the parties negotiate the heads of terms.

Once the broad terms of a deal have been agreed with the vendors of a target company we support your existing advisers to complete the transaction.

Equity Strategies is paid on success, usually a percentage of the total deal value subject to a minimum fee. Occasionally, when a project is likely to be particularly complex or lengthy we may ask for a modest monthly retainer as a sign of our client’s commitment.
